Thankful for no words

I have no words for today.  I am beyond proud of the dances that performed on stage tonight.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach in a christian environment that encourages the performing arts.  I am thankful for neighbors who help drive my child to dance when we cannot be home to do it, because the other daughter is performing with me and shines on the stage!  I am honored to be a part of a friend group that texts when someone needs to be covered in prayer, who jump in to bring meals, and care for children and do whatever needs to be done to help one another out.  These women are such a blessing to me.  What a beautiful village I am a part of.

So I guess I had a few words left in me for tonight.  But in the midst of the chaos of life, I love the quiet. I love the calm.  I could go an entire day without saying a word.  But I also love to talk and to listen. Take a moment to be in the calm and quiet.  Listen for that still small voice.

Tonight’s blog is short and sweet.  I have had a busy day.  Life gets busy, but never get so busy that you forget to be thankful for all of your blessings. And take time to listen to what God has to say to you.

“Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10

By Laurel Austin Henson

Laurel spent 8 months caring for her first husband after being diagnosed with cancer in 2010. He passed away at 33, leaving behind a daughter of 7 and 5 year old twin boys. After sowing millions of tears, Laurel sought out God daily and began to plan for a life of being a single mother, but ready to raise their children in faith, hope and love. God gave her more than she could have ever imagined when she brought Matt into her life, along with his 2 children. He was recently divorced and the providence of God had been leading up to this life for more than 20 years! Now Laurel is reaping joy with Matt and their 5 beautiful children. Thanks be to God for all the beauty created from the ashes of death and divorce.
