Rest in Him

So after my major steroid crazy day, today I have crashed and burned!  I feel lousy.  So what can I possibly find to be thankful for today?  Today I can find the beautiful weather today.  Even though my errand running was cut short due to lack of energy, I am thankful for our home to come back to and a day to rest.  As a mom and wife, it is hard to have down days.  Sometimes an illness is what it takes for me to stop.  Not exactly how I would like to be down, but none the less, I am down.  Today I will sit, take it easy and relax.  Everything we need done, will still be there tomorrow.

Short, sweet and to the point.  Today I will rest both physically and spiritually.  Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”

By Laurel Austin Henson

Laurel spent 8 months caring for her first husband after being diagnosed with cancer in 2010. He passed away at 33, leaving behind a daughter of 7 and 5 year old twin boys. After sowing millions of tears, Laurel sought out God daily and began to plan for a life of being a single mother, but ready to raise their children in faith, hope and love. God gave her more than she could have ever imagined when she brought Matt into her life, along with his 2 children. He was recently divorced and the providence of God had been leading up to this life for more than 20 years! Now Laurel is reaping joy with Matt and their 5 beautiful children. Thanks be to God for all the beauty created from the ashes of death and divorce.
