Serve one another in love

Galatians 5:13  “For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters.  But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature.  Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.”    NLT

Do we serve our loved ones?  Do I do laundry and cook dinner and pack lunches and pay bills and on and on and on…Yes!  But is that serving?  Do I grumble when I do these, maybe sometimes.  When we serve we should do so in love.  With a happy and cheerful heart.  Too serve means to do so with getting nothing in return.  Serving others is a gift.  We do it selflessly.  When we give to others, we bless them.  It is a way to show love in a deep and caring way.  It can be as simple as serving them a drink.  Serving them a meal.  Serve them by doing something that they normally do for everyone else.  These little moments of unexpected joy will brighten their day.  And yours a bit as well, when you see the joy on their face 🙂

Laurel spent 8 months caring for her first husband after being diagnosed with cancer in 2010. He passed away at 33, leaving behind a daughter of 7 and 5 year old twin boys. After sowing millions of tears, Laurel sought out God daily and began to plan for a life of being a single mother, but ready to raise their children in faith, hope and love. God gave her more than she could have ever imagined when she brought Matt into her life, along with his 2 children. He was recently divorced and the providence of God had been leading up to this life for more than 20 years! Now Laurel is reaping joy with Matt and their 5 beautiful children. Thanks be to God for all the beauty created from the ashes of death and divorce.
